I'm a title. Click here to edit me.

The idea for my graphic novel House of Cards began rattling around in my head sometime around 2002. I've found it hard to sum up the story into just a few sentences and not make it sound boring or silly or confusing, so I've taken to describing it as a murder mystery and a ghost story had a baby, and that baby grew up wanting to be 'Catcher in the Rye'. Make of that what you will. In September of 2006, I finally got the nerve to sit down and begin working on the book. If I had known then how daunting and difficult the whole process was going to be, I might have just scrapped the whole thing to begin with. I had many, many false starts and numerous rewrites, and coming to terms with my limitations as an artist and a writer was one of the hardest lessons I've had to learn. (I will note here that I have been solely responsible for everything to do with the physical production of the book: writing, drawing, and even creating 4 custom fonts from scratch for the different parts of the book). Through all the trials and tribulations, I have persisted, and I am extremely proud of my work on House of Cards, despite its many flaws. I think it has potential, and whenever I manage to finish it, I think it will end up being something special.

In the summer of 2011, I completed Book 1, which clocked in at 88 pages, and I am currently 2/3 done with Book 2. In the gallery below, you will find some standout pages and panels from both books. At some point, I may put up a PDF of Book 1 for sale to let people see whats happening with it. Until then, enjoy the following bits...
